Stevie Wonder

Stevie WonderStevland Haraway Morris (ne Judkins) was born on the 13th of May, 1950. He is best known as Stevie Wonder and is considered an innovator in music and an influencer for musicians from different genres, from rhythm and blues, jazz, gospel, soul to jazz. A virtual one-man-band, Wonder's use of synthesizers and other electronic musical instruments during the 1970s revolutionized the structure of R&B. Wonder helped bring these genres into the album age by releasing albums that were both cohesive and constant. Wonder was blind at the time of his birth, signed with Motown's Tamla label when he was 11 years old. The label gave him the official title Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's popularity on the charts was at its height during the 1970s. The band's "classic period", beginning in 1972, saw the release of Music of My Mind. Talking Book featured "Superstition", one of the most renowned and distinctive sounding sounds made by the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. The album won the Grammy Award as Album of the year for Innervisions (1973), Fulfillingness' First Finale (1974), and Songs in the Key of Life ( 1976). This makes him the holder of the tie record of the most Album of the year wins , with three. Wonder is the only artist who has won the award for three consecutive album releases. Wonder was considered a "commercial artist" at the time that he began make his biggest hits in the late 1980s. His popularity grew with an increase in albums sales, charity involvement and notable collaborations.
